Altered Ascension is based off the Altus Plateau region in Elden Ring.
Either you collected both sets of the Grand Lift of Dectus Medallions or you overcame your fear of heights and beat a giant lava spewing gecko with a fire sword, good job either way! Now you're ready to become the Elden Lord.
Upon first glance you may think this is such a lovely place, where the sky is golden, there's nice scenery and a couple towns to visit.
But no, this isn't a vacation destination or a walk in the park.
This region is designed to humble you.
You struggled with the Tree Sentinel at the start of the game? Altus Plateau knows, that's why you face two of them at the same time and then an even beefier one later on to push your cap back.
You can just be riding to your destination and a dragon that breathes red lightning just swoops down to fight you, no big deal. Not to mention the actual climb to get to the Erdtree itself, that's its own level of treachery right there.
The only thing sweet about Altus Plateau is this candle based on it, which is pretty good if I may say. Not only is this blend infused with tropical fruits such as Pineapple, Orange and Coconut, but also wildflowers that will clear up all the bad vibes you've accumulated trying to get through this region.
